The Inaugural Boston Rum Week Comes to Town This Month
(Boston, MA, Sept. 18, 2023) The Boston Rum Social Club, in collaboration with top rum brands, bars, restaurants, and enthusiasts, is thrilled to announce the inaugural Boston Rum Week, a seven-day extravaganza celebrating all things rum. Running from Sept. 18-24, this week-long event will feature a wide range of rum-centric activities, tastings, and special events at participating bars and restaurants across the city.
Boston’s top bars and restaurants are coming together during Boston Rum Week to offer an unforgettable experience of rum tasting flights, curated rum cocktails, and exciting educational events. “Whether you’re a seasoned rum connoisseur or a newbie looking to discover the magic of this delicious spirit, there’s something for everyone,” says Olivier Raynaut, founder of the Boston Rum Social Club.
“The community we’ve built around rum in Boston is astonishing. Boston Rum Week is a chance to further enrich that culture,” said Raynaut, who founded the group in 2019. “Boston Rum Week is not just about learning about and enjoying good rum, but is also an incredible opportunity to support local businesses and to appreciate the versatility and richness of this unique sugar-cane spirit.”
Event sponsors include Plantation Rum, Privateer Rum, and Raising Glasses, an importer of single-barrel rum and whiskey, among many others.
One of the highlights of the week is a special Rum Cruise that will depart from Boston Harbor on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m aboard the luxury yacht Northern Lights. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of rums from six brands representing 13 different countries. The cruise will also feature the world premiere of several unreleased rums. Tickets for the cruise, rum tasting, and presentations are $78 per person.
